About This Book

This is the fourth book in Darussalam's History of Islam reader series for young people, and the last of four volumes on the Rightly-Guided Caliphs. It covers the life of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet's cousin and the son of his uncle Abu Talib, who accepted Islam as a young boy and later became the fourth caliph.

The book follows 'Ali from his early years in Makkah, including the night he stayed behind in the Prophet's place during the Hijrah, through his caliphate and martyrdom. It is written in simple language for students around grade six and can be used as part of an Islamic studies curriculum.
