About This Book

Commanders of the Muslim Army tells the stories of Companions who led Muslim forces during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and after. It covers their battles and also their faith, bravery, and simple way of life. The preface is signed by Mahmood Ahmad Ghadanfar.

The book opens by describing the qualities expected of a Muslim commander, then devotes a separate chapter to each of twenty-five commanders. Beyond the battlefield, it looks at how these leaders worked to bring stability, education, and religious and military training to the lands they governed. The preface also discusses military measures from the Prophet's campaigns at Badr, Uhud, and the Trench (Al-Ahzab).
