About This Book
Story of Prophet Dawud (David) is book 12 in a rhyming series on the Prophets for young children. It begins with the young shepherd who stepped forward to face a giant no one else would fight, and whom Allah granted victory.
It goes on to what Allah gave Prophet Dawud (peace be upon him): kingship and prophethood, the Zabur, a voice so beautiful that the mountains and birds joined him in glorifying Allah, and iron that softened in his hands so that he made armor and lived from the work of his own hands. The book also mentions his fasting and night prayer, which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) described as the most beloved to Allah.
