About This Book
Beyond Mere Christianity: C.S. Lewis & the Betrayal of Christianity by Brandon Toropov is written in response to C.S. Lewis's widely read 1952 work of Christian apologetics, Mere Christianity.
The title carries a second meaning as well. Drawing on current Gospel scholarship, the author argues that Jesus called his people to a salvation based on the direct worship of the Creator rather than the worship of anything created, and that the authentic words of Jesus invite readers to move beyond Christianity as it is conventionally understood.
