In this biography, Dr. As-Sallabi presents the life of 'Uthman ibn 'Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), the third Caliph of Islam. 'Uthman accepted Islam early through the invitation of Abu Bakr and faced hardship from his own family as a result. He married two of the Prophet's daughters, which earned him the title Dhun-Noorayn, "the possessor of two lights."

The book covers his achievements as Caliph, including the expansion of Muslim lands, public works, a stronger army, and the establishment of judicial and financial institutions. It also examines the turmoil of his final years, which ended in his killing, and responds to accounts of him that the author regards as fabricated by his opponents and repeated by later writers.
