About the Author

Dr. Bilal Philips was born in Jamaica and grew up in Canada, where he accepted Islam in 1972. He studied at the Islamic University of Madinah, earned an M.A. in Islamic Theology from the University of Riyadh, and completed a Ph.D. in Islamic Theology at the University of Wales in 1994. He later founded the Islamic Information Center in Dubai and, in 2001, established the Islamic Online University. He has taught Arabic and Islamic studies at universities in the UAE.
