The Fragile Vessels, by Muhammad al-Jibaly, explains the rights and obligations that husbands and wives have toward each other in Islam. Using the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah, it sets out the duties of the husband toward his wife and of the wife toward her husband, along with matters such as the nikah and the mahr.

To give a realistic picture of married life, the book includes biographies of the Mothers of the Believers and a full discussion of the hadith of Umm Zar'. It was written with Muslims in English-speaking countries in mind, who may have limited access to sound teaching on marriage.
