About This Book

Many verses of the Qur'an were revealed in response to a specific event or a question raised in the early Muslim communities of Makkah and Madinah. The circumstances behind these verses are known as asbab an-nuzul, the reasons for revelation.

This volume covers the first four juz (parts) of the Qur'an. By explaining the context in which particular verses were revealed, it helps readers move beyond recitation to a clearer understanding of what the verses mean and how they apply to daily life.
