About This Set
Passport to English: A Foundation Course in Speaking Conversational English is a five-book course for learners who want to speak basic conversational American English. Its goal is to help learners communicate appropriately for the situation, purpose, and people involved, using natural language drawn from home, work, social life, and leisure.
Grammar is taught through short conversations rather than formal explanations. Each unit opens with its vocabulary and expressions, and some units open with the grammar points they cover; these points are carefully graded across the course. The books are illustrated.
The course is designed to be used with the Language Master device, which lets a learner listen to any text in the books, repeat after the recording, record and compare their own voice, and choose a playback speed.
