It is the Urdu translation of Dr. Ali Muhammad Sallabi's biography of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), the fourth of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and it is the fourth work in the author's study of the era of those caliphs. The book follows 'Ali's life from his birth to his martyrdom, then examines the difficulties of his caliphate in detail. It gives readers a full, chronological account of one of the most discussed periods of early Islamic history.
