Part 2 of The Book of Marriage by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen continues his commentary on the rulings of marriage, with evidence from the Qur'an and the Sunnah.
A central topic in this volume is compatibility between spouses. The Shaykh explains that compatibility has several aspects, beginning with religion, which covers both difference in belief and difference in religious commitment. He discusses the verses on who may marry whom, including the ruling on a Muslim man marrying a woman from the People of the Book, and notes that many of the early Muslims (the Salaf) disliked such a marriage when a Muslim wife was available.
