About This Book

The Authentic Musnad of Reasons for the Descending of Revelation is by Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hadi al-Wadi'i, the Yemeni scholar of hadith. As the title indicates, it gathers authentic narrations about the circumstances in which verses of the Qur'an were revealed (asbab an-nuzul).

Shaykh Muqbil pointed out that knowing why a verse was revealed helps in understanding its meaning, and that some verses were hard for the Companions and later generations to understand until they knew the reason behind their revelation.
