About This Book
Provisions for the Hereafter is an abridgment (Mukhtasar) of Zad Al-Ma'ad, the well-known work by Imam Ibn al-Qayyim on the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Ibn al-Qayyim wrote the original while traveling, and it gathers a large number of incidents, hadiths, verses and points of fiqh, along with the names of the Companions involved.
The book describes the Prophet's practice in worship, daily conduct, travel, speech, medicine and judgments, as well as his campaigns and treaties.

About the Author
Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr, lived from 691 to 751 AH (1292 to 1350 CE). He was a close student of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, and his scholarship centered on hadith and fiqh, though he is also widely known for his writings on the heart and on character.
