About This Book
Seerah Encyclopedia: The Hidden Pearls (Al-Lulu Al-Maknoon) is a multi-volume encyclopedia on the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), prepared by the Darussalam Research Center. This is Volume 1 of 10. It is printed in full color on glossy paper and illustrated with pictures and maps.
This first volume covers the background to the Prophet's life: the history and religions of the Arabian Peninsula, the Arab domains and kingdoms, and the neighboring peoples and their religions. Across the series, the encyclopedia follows the Seerah in chronological order from his birth to his death, with each event researched and reviewed by a thirteen-member committee. It also describes the social conditions and customs of the time, to help readers understand the world he lived in.
Please note: this is not a translation of the four-volume Arabic work of the same name. It is a new work compiled by Darussalam, originally in Urdu, and is being translated into other languages.
