About This Book

This book is a biography of Imam Sa'eed bin Al-Musayyab (died 94 AH), may Allah have mercy on him, regarded as the chief of the Tabi'in and a leader of the Muslims in his time. It looks at both the private and public sides of his life: his character, habits, manners, knowledge, religious practice and worship, along with accounts of his sacrifice and his love for Allah.

It is part of a series of biographies of scholars and hadith narrators by Salaahud-Deen 'Ali Abdul Mawjood. In his preface, the author explains that he gathered accounts from different sources, gave references briefly to keep the footnotes short, relied on reports recorded by trustworthy scholars such as Adh-Dhahabi, and left out stories that the scholars rejected.
