About This Book
Great Women of Islam tells the life stories of the Mothers of the Believers and sixteen other female Companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), all of whom he gave the good news of Paradise during their lifetimes. Their lives offer Muslim women concrete examples of faith and conduct to learn from.
The book was compiled in Urdu by Mahmood Ahmad Ghadanfar and translated into English by Jamila Muhammad Qawi. Beyond their worship and character, it shows how active these women were in religious and public life, including caring for the wounded and bringing food and water to soldiers on the battlefield, and it highlights the knowledge of 'Aishah, a major source of hadith.
