About This Book
A Critical Study of Shirk by Yasir Qadhi is a detailed explanation of Kashf al-Shubuhat ("the clearing of doubts"), one of the most important works of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. Shirk is the act of associating partners with Allah. In the original work, Ibn Abd al-Wahhab takes up the arguments some groups of his time used to justify acts of shirk, and he argues that they match the reasoning of the pagans the Prophet (peace be upon him) opposed. More than a dozen such arguments are presented and answered.
To make the study more complete, the author adds introductory chapters on aspects of shirk not covered in the original text, and a short biography of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab serves as a preface. Yasir Qadhi is an American Islamic teacher and author who studied at the Islamic University of Madinah.
