The practice of wearing hijab is not exclusively Islamic. In the long history of Judeo-Christianity, Catholic nuns were also required to wear their cloaks. Within the Bible, there are also several references of veiling including 1st Corinthians 11 (3-10), “every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoreth her head”.
