Dua is considered to be the essence of worshipping Allah. It is the only thing that can actually change the fate of man. Therefore it is very important for us know more about the preferred methods of Dua. In this lecture Yasir Qadhi talks about dua in detail and tells us about the various factors that prevent dua from being accepted.

The speaker, Yasir Qadhi, was born in Houston, TX. After completing a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, he left to study Islam at the Islamic University of Madinah. There, he finished his second Bachelors degree, specializing in the sciences of Hadeeth, and then went on to complete a Masters from the same University, specializing in Islamic Theology (aqeedah). Presently he is completing a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from Yale University. He has authored numerous works, including Riyaa: Hidden Shirk; An Introduction to the Sciences of the Quran; A Critical Analysis of Shirk; and Du?aa: Weapon of the Believer (upon which this series of audio lectures is based). He has ijaazahs in various recitations of the Quran, and in the books of hadeeth.
